Administrative / Biographical History
Tom Thomas was a prominent figure in the cultural life of Neath during the mid and late 20th century. As a fluent Welsh speaker and a graduate of the University of Wales, he spent many years teaching Welsh in various schools in Neath. He also wrote Welsh plays for the 'ATHRO' and won distinction at National Eisteddfodau. In addition he was active in the local history of the Neath area and a member of the Neath Antiquarian Society. He died in Dec 1981.

Arranged into three sections: 1. Antiquarian materials: notebooks, photographs, printed works, plans and other papers; 2. Dissertation materials: drafts of dissertation and plans; 3. Materials relating to teaching career: preparatory notes for lessons, and other papers.
