Administrative / Biographical History

Neath County School (Neath Intermediate and Technical School) opened in September 1896. It was originally designed as a dual school with separate departments for boys and girls. The new home of Neath County School for Girls opened in 1928. By 1947, the school had become a Grammar School. Neath Grammar School for girls closed in 1973 following the ending of Grammar School education in the Neath area. It then became Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School. The school was housed on Dwr-y-Felin Road the site of the present day Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.
