Administrative / Biographical History

William White Archibald Charles Chalmers was born at Leyton, Essex, England in 1903. His father, Charles was a master tailor. William attended the University of Glasgow from 1924-1928, graduating with a BSc in Civil Engineering (Mechanical) in 1928. He studied Natural Philosophy, Chemistry and Mathematics in his first year and Higher Mathematics and General Engineering in his second year. he third year he took Engineering and in fourth year he studied Engineering (Mechanical) and Cicil Engineering 1. He died on 15 March 1999.
