Scope and Content

A bundle of four journals from the late 1920s to 1937, probably written by [Louisa Olive Jones], describing various holidays she took with her sister [Leah]. Each of these journals is full of descriptions of places visited, anecdotes of their experiences, personal views about the country, its customs and people, and observations about her fellow travellers. The author's sense of delight in travel is very evident. There are also references to the political situation eg. the assassination of Dolfuss, Chancellor of Austria and Mussolini's popularity.
