He was related to the Evans family of Eaglesbush as his great aunt Jennet Charles married Herbert Evans. Pendrill Charles was mayor of Neath in 1865. His eldest son Henry Pendrill Charles lived at Westfield, in the parish of Cadoxton-juxta-Neath and was mayor of Neath twice. For more information see K. Records relating to Edward Henry Bath of Llwyn-y-bryn, Swansea. Edward Henry Bath (1851-1908) was a member of the Corporation of Swansea, 1881-1885 and a trustee of Swansea Harbour, 1881-1888. He inherited Alltyferin [co. Carms.] from his uncle, Henry James Bath who died in 1875. Henry James widow continued to live at the property until 1886 when Edward Henry and his family moved to AlltyferinNAS TH/4/hub
