Curbridge is situated about 15 miles west of Oxford and was formally a chapel of ease to Witney St Mary.
The records were deposited in the Bodleian Library by the Rev. Canon R.E Meredith, rector of Curbridge in 1979 and later transferred to Oxfordshire Record Office. Further records were deposited with Oxfordshire Record Office as Acc 1684 in November 1979 and 1706 in March 1980 and originally catalogued as Misc Witney II. Other records were deposited as Acc 3557 in January 1993 and Acc 3649 in May 1993.
