This collection includes the recordings and accompanying written transcripts for a series of interviews relating to business and enterprise in and around the city of York. The interviews were recorded in 2023 and relate to the York Cattle Market and auction centre, and cycling businesses in York that have promoted sustainable, accessible local transport.
The oral histories were undertaken by business historians in the School for Business and Society and, besides supporting current research interests in the School, the project seeks to collect, preserve and make publicly available more diverse, inclusive, contemporary oral histories of business and enterprise in and around the city of York.
