Modern History Research Programme - Local (1966-1970). Correspondence and reports on research work done under the supervision of Bruce Lenman and Professor D.F. Macdonald, and carried out mainly by Enid Gauldie (Research Assistant [1966-1969]). The themes of the work were "Dundee and its Textile Industry, 1850-1914" and "Sources for Capital for Nineteenth Century Industrial Development in Eastern Scotland" [1968-1970]. Included are extensive correspondence with representatives of Dundee Textile firms and their inheritors (including Jo Grimond), and with Mr. Oliver Graham; and material dealing with applications to funding bodies. Also includes copy of Business Archives Council of Scotland, Newsletter No.2, May 1967.
