Administrative / Biographical History
Kinmond & Company were established in 1822, joining the growing number of textile spinning mills at Lower Dens. By the mid 19th century members of the Kinmond family were involved two firms; Kinmond & Hill flaxspinners of Wallace Mills and Kinmond, Hutton & Steele, of Wallace Foundry which made textile machinery and locomotives.
