Administrative / Biographical History
Margaret Elizabeth Goldie was born in Glasgow in 1944. Prior to attending university, Margaret was a student at St Brides School for Girls, Helensburgh, and Hutcheson's Girl's Grammar School. Margaret attended the University of Glasgow from 1962-1967 , taking classes in History, German and Scottish History in her first year; History (Higher) and English (Ordinary) in her second, and Italian, Economic History (Ordinary) and Scottish History (Higher) in her third year. She graduated with an MA in June 1965 , and returned the following academic year to study Modern Economic History in her fourth year and History (Senior Honours) and Economic History (Senior Honours) in her fifth and final year. She was awarded postgraduate honours in Economic History in 1967 .
