This small collection contains a volume of promissory notes from the Ajmer region of India.

A promissory note is a financial instrument, in which the issuer promises to pay a designated amount of money to the payee under specific terms.

Ajmer District is an area in the state of Rajasthan in western India. The district's headquarters are based in the city of Ajmer. The district shares borders with the districts of Nagaur, Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara and Pali.
