Administrative / Biographical History
John Roberts Blacksmith was brought up in Llandegfan. On the 1911 census, he is at Regent House, Beaumaris with his wife Sarah. They have been married for 9 years. They have no children and he is running a smithy. In 1921 John Roberts took out a mortgage on Regent House. Robert Richard Eames Blacksmith and his wife Martha from Tyrred Lodge, Beaumaris with their children Alice, Mary Elizabeth (Mair), Doris and John Trevor can be seen in photographs at Regent House from this period onwards. Their mother Martha died at a young age. It is likely that Robert Richard worked for John Roberts who befriended his young family after the loss of their mother. John Roberts died aged 94 on 24th June 1965 Elizabeth Mair Jones, widow and Theophilus Roberts Farmer (his younger brother) inherited. John Trevor Eames brother to Mair would come to own Regent house later on.
