Samuel collated a history of whaling in the Southern oceans for a fifteen year period, 1775-1790. The information given in these summary's covers yearly premiums and analysing activities under the headings of ships, masters, tonnage, owners, whale oil, sperm oil, amount of voyages. Charles sometimes records the he destinations of the vessels.
