Documents relating to the Daunteseys of Agecroft

Sir Robert Langley died in 1560, the last of the male line in possession of Agecroft Hall. The following year his daughter and heiress Anne married William Dauntesey of West Lavington co Wilts, son of Richard Dauntesey Gentleman-Usher to Queen Katherine Howard. William's inquisition post mortem records that he died seised of the manors of Prestwich, Pendlebury, and Agecroft, and messuages and lands there and in Alkrington, Tetlow, Oldham, Crompton and Manchester.
