Scope and Content

This item was received as a gift in June 1995 as accession 3979. The manor house at Shipton on Cherwell dates from the seventeenth century with rebuilding work carried out in the eighteenth and further extensions in the nineteenth century.William Turner created a park around the house c.1812. More recently the property was acquired by Richard Branson who renovated the house and converted the outbuildings into a recording studio.
