Memoirs (unpublished)

Richard Wood's unpublished memoirs comprised five boxes of bundles of chapter drafts in various stages of completion, some with annotations, as well as manuscript notes, typescript journals and other related papers. The majority of these had been grouped together in plastic wallets or with fastenings, with only one bundle appearing to be a complete, or near complete, version of the memoirs. As there was a great deal of overlap between bundles and drafts the decision was made to move the near complete draft of the memoirs and some notes on suggested chapter order to the beginning of the archival series and to preserve the remainder of the bundles in their original order and groupings so as to reflect the way in which they would appear to have been used and filed by Lord Holderness and his staff.
