The day book relates to the accounts of Biddle & Biddle, a firm run by Richard and John Biddle dealing mainly in timber. This became bankrupt in Mar 1828 when Richard Biddle switched to the coal trade and was succeeded in about Oct 1829 by the partnership of Insole & Biddle.
