Thomas Phillips was one of the earliest pupils at the Royal Technical Institute, and reputedly studied as a boy in the original building while it was still being erected. Trained as an engineer, he joined the Association in 1896 and maintained an active involvement into the 1970s. This material covers his work at Thomas Bradford and Co. and John Cameron Ltd, and his general engineering interests.
