Dr John Newton Hudson (1897-1969) was born in Bacup, Lancashire and educated at Manchester Grammar School and Manchester University. He became a locum in Liverpool, then an assistant in Kettering, then a GP in Croydon for most of his working life, with locum work after retirement in Devon and Cheshire.
