Papers relating to the establishment of a group for British and German historians to discuss matters of mutual interest. The group was established in February 1969 at a meeting held at Frankfurt (Henderson attended the meeting). The group was part of an initiative which eventually led to the establishment in 1975 of the German Historical Institute in London.. The group promoted the exchange of scholarly information, including research and library resources for German and British history. The group maintained a register of historians in the UK working on German history, and held at least one conference at the Institute of Historical Research in November 1969. The file includes publicity for the group and correspondence between Henderson and Professor P Kluke (University of Frankfurt AM), who arranged the original meeting.
