Egerton papers deposited in 1998

This subgroup is comprised of a series of papers, principally correspondence, relating to 3 generations of the Egerton family. The material was purchased from J.F. Buckland of Crowborough, East Sussex, by the National Trust in 1997 and deposited at the John Rylands Library on 20 February 1998. The material has been arranged into four series, the first three according to the recipient of the letters (Samuel, William and Wilbraham Egerton respectively), and the fourth containing three miscellaneous items which bear no obvious relation to the Egerton family but which were included in the National Trust's purchase.

All letters consist of 1 sheet of paper except where stated otherwise.
