Personal Photographs

This series comprises photographs, postcards and other ephemera, taken or collected by ZK. Photographs are roughly arranged thematically, reflecting ZK's own filing system and comprise the following: family photographs, observatories, and images related to ZK's working life - colleagues, friends, scientific equipment, places of work and so forth.

There are distinct collections: of ZK's family and work colleagues, some of which were sourced for and used in ZK's autobiography Of Stars and Men - Reminiscences of an Astronomer, published by CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group, in 1986. and a collections of images of observatories from around the world. Many of the photographs have titles or inscriptions on the back. Some are press photographs and some are marked up for use in a publication. There is a small quantity of copy images.

This series does not contain any of the images which were taken as part of the Manchester Lunar Programme.
