Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Dell Publishing Co, Inc , was established in New York, United States, in 1962 . In the same year the company established a British subsidiary, Mayflower Books Ltd , with registered offices in London, England, that published various non-fiction and science fiction titles. In Granada Group Ltd 1967 , media group, London, acquired the entire share capital of Mayflower Books Ltd and in 1968 , Granada transferred the company to its publishing arm, Granada Publishing Ltd , London. Granada sold its publishing interests to the Scottish publishers William Collins, Sons & Co Ltd , Glasgow, in 1983 who dissolved Mayflower Books Ltd in 1993 .
