James Reid Kelso was born on 3 April 1909 and was a Law student at the University of Glasgow , Scotland from 1932 . He graduated BL in 1936 . He went on to become a detective officer and then deputy chief constable. He was created OBE and received the Queens Police Medal (QPM). James Reid Kelso died in Glasgow on 2 October 1981.
