Stag Inns (Edinburgh) Ltd, Edinburgh, Scotland, were in operation between 1953 and 1961. The company was a subsidiary of Robert Younger Ltd and by 1960 was part of John Aitchison & Co Ltd, Edinburgh. They owned the following premises: Bisset's Hotel (Gullane, Scotland), Breich Inn (West Calder, Scotland), Central Bar (Dundee, Scotland), Club Bar (Stornoway, Scotland), Crescent Bar (Glasgow, Scotland), Horseshoe Bar (Dalkeith, Scotland), Malletsheugh Inn (Newton Mearns), Mitre Bar (Edinburgh), Northern Taverns (Dunfermline, Scotland), premises at 165 Paisley Road West (Glasgow), Port Seton Hotel (East Lothian, Scotland), Ship Inn (Dalkeith), Star Hotel (Leven, Scotland), Vulcan Bar (Dundee), Windsor Bar ( Dundee ). No more is cutrrently known about the company's history.

The collection was previously stored with the rest of the Scottish Brewing Archive at Heriot–Watt University. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. Custody of the Scottish Brewing Archive was transferred to Glasgow University Archive Services in 2008.
