Administrative / Biographical History
Robert Mackintosh McKean was born in 1893 and attended the University of Glasgow from 1912-1919 to study medicine. He took classes in Latin, Maths, Zoology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Materia Medicine, Clinical Surgery, Pathology, Midwifery and Dermatology. His studies were interrupted by World War I, and he joined the Officer Training Corps in 1915. McKean graduated MB ChB in 1920 and obtained his Medical Registration Certificate in 1921. McKean died in c1976.
