Paul Harley attended the University of Glasgow , Scotland from 1977-1981  . He took classes in Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Graphics, Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, Applied mechanics, Properties of Materials, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Acoustics, Electrical Machines and Power Systems, Electrical Materials, Electromagnetic Fields and waves, Electronics, Engineering Management, Mechanics and Materials, Electroninc Engineering, Power Engineering, Systems Design and Instrumentation and Systems Engineering. He graduated BSc with an Ordinary degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering on 16 July 1981  . He subsequently worked as an engineer.
