In business from the late nineteenth century, Caledonian Carpets was acquired by A F Stoddard & Co Ltd in 1918. At the same time, A F Stoddard & Co Ltd acquired Ronald Jack & Co Ltd of Paisley. Both firms operated as subsidiaries into the 1930s and 1940s.
