Scope and Content

Mosquito research slides [DC 068/5/1] are a product of Alec Haddow's mosquito epidemiology research conducted with the Virus Research Institute, Uganda. The majority of these records concern illustrated graphs or statistical records about the transmission and impact of insect-borne viruses. Scenes of vegetation, surrounding terrain and equipment used for mosquito catches are included, however these are more prominent in the Uganda negatives [DC 068/5/2] and the photographic prints made from them [DC 068/5/3]. These two series also contain scenes from neighbouring communities and colleagues who assisted Haddow's mosquito research. Personal photographs [DC 068/5/4] include both professional and family portraits.

Administrative / Biographical History
