Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The Glasgow University History Club was established in 1955 and met in University Gardens, and also the Queen Margaret Union. The aim of the club was to promote academic interest in history and provide social activities for its membership. Outside speakers and university lecturers were invited to gives talks to the club and students were also given then opportunity to present their own papers. Visits to local places of interest were also organised.
