David Gould Gardiner was born on 17 March 1888 in Hawick, Borders, Scotland. He started to attend the University of Glasgow in 1910 studying Zoology, Anatomy, and Chemistry in his first year. He went on to study Physiology and Anatomy in his second year, Materia Medica and Surgery in his third year; Surgery Midwifery, Pathology and Clinical Medicine in his fourth year; Throat and Nose, and Vaccination in his fifth year. He graduated MB ChB in 1915 and went on to a career in Medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland. He died c1986.
