The collection primarily contains manuscript and typescript notes made by T.H. Rickman relatingto Knighthorpe Hall, Loughborough, Leicestershire and the barn and stable at the hall. The notesformed the basis of his illustrated articles in the 'Bulletin of the Loughborough and DistrictArchaeological Society', 1966. The collection also contains letters (1964-1967) regarding thearticles sent to Rickman by Brian Williams of Loughborough (excavations advisor for the Society atthe time), and John T. Smith of Potters Bar, Hertfordshire (of the Royal Commission on HistoricalMonuments). Draft replies by Rickman to Smith are enclosed. Included with the collection are sevensketch drawings of the buildings, a copy of the published article, and a note.
