Scope and Content

He leaves land and property in Ovington, Essex, Brinckley, Cambridgeshire, and property in Cambridge leased from Emmanuel College to his son Christopher, charging this bequest with annuities of #20 to Eleanor Ansty of Islington, spinster, #16 to Edmund Ansty of Wantage, Bucks, gent, and #16 to Edmund's son Thomas. He further leaves rights of presentation to the rectories of Tilbury-juxta-Clare and Ovington, Essex, to his nephew Christopher Ansty BD, fellow of St John's College, his coaches and his house at Trumpington to his wife Mary, his library and medal collection to his son Christopher, and bequests to the poor of Brinkley, Trumpington, and (in a codicil of same date), Lawford in Essex. The residue of the estate is to be divided equally between his son Christopher, his daughter Mary (provided that she receives at least #200), and his wife, whom he appoints his executrix. Copy for probate, enclosing certificate of probate and administration granted by the prerogative court of Canterbury on 1 Apr 1751 to Ansty's widow, duty stamps on certificate.
