Administrative / Biographical History

Lance Rogers was the Secretary of Ogilvie Lodge in the Merthyr and Rhymney District of the National Union of Mineworkers (South Wales Area) during the 1960s. He was also the Miners Agent for the Rhymney District.

Lance Rogers served with the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and in 1978 he returned to Spain as part of a delegation from the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM). He was elected a CountyCouncillor in Breconshire in 1946.
