Administrative / Biographical History

The Association supported the work of Anglican church in Hong Kong and work with the Chinese community in Britain, including the Bishop R O Hall (Ho Ming Wah) welfare centre founded in 1964 and based at St Martin in the Fields.

The Diocese of Victoria, Hong Kong, a diocese of the Chung Hua Sheng Kung Hui, divided in 1950 into the Diocese of South China and the Diocese of Hong Kong and Macao. The Hong Kong and Macao Diocese continued temporarily under the metropolitical jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Following handover to China in 1997 an Anglican Province was established in 1998 and the Association (no longer diocesan) was renamed the Hong Kong Anglican Church Association.
