Scope and Content

Sir Cranmer Herrys [of Creeksea, Essex] and Anne Herrys in discharge of the arrears of a moiety of rent due to Thomas Butler son and heir of Nevile Butler [of Orwell], Cambridgeshire, and in discharge of an utlary after judgment obtained against Sir Cranmer Herrys, and for other considerations, let to Nevile Butler and Richard Benninge of London certain land in West Thurrock for a term of twelve years, the agreement to be void on the payment of certain sums by Sir Cranmer Herrys on certain dates. The document has been cut and a large section is missing. On the back are written several times the names Theodorus Archer and Thomas Archer. The no. '20' occurs at the foot. From binding.
