Scope and Content

A roll of the Royal Anglesey Fusiliers which gives particulars of the men's names, the parishes for which they served, places of abode and trades.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Royal Anglesey Fusiliers were a Militia. The Militia Act of 1757 resulted in the compilation of lists of eligible men within parishes, and from these, the men actually chosen, appeared in the militia lists. Those men who enlisted in the Militias after 1786 served for five years.
