Lists of job vacancies (mainly monthly), with wages and working hours, advertised at employment exchanges in Camden, Manchester and Birmingham and in the Manchester and London and South East Clearing Houses, 1956-1960. For some vacancies there are further notes on remuneration and job tasks.

The archive comprises research material collected by Guy Routh for his book, 'Occupation and Pay in Great Britain, 1906-60', researched under the auspices of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.
