Journal of W.P. Emerton

Scope and Content

Journal of W.P. Emerton, compiled mainly in Oxford, 1863-1915 (many gaps). The 1863 volume, the first that Emerton compiled, is badly damp-stained, but remains fairly legible. The 1898 volume contains pencil notes by one of Emerton's daughters on members of the family and others mentioned in the journal.

Administrative / Biographical History

Wolseley Partridge Emerton (b 1843) was a barrister (Inner temple, 1882) and economist. He matriculated from Magdalen Hall, Oxford, in 1863.
