Diaries relating to Morrice's service in the Sudan Irrigation Department (1936-1939, 1950-1954), and in the Royal Engineers and Sudan Defence Force (1940-1944), with trek notes, Sudan (1946-1948), and diaries of trips to India, USA, Africa, etc. (1950-1959).

Administrative / Biographical History

Humphrey Alan W. Morrice (1906-1959), CMG, was educated at Wellington College, and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He was on military service during 1940 to 1944, serving with the Royal Engineers and Sudan Defence Force.

In 1934 Morrice joined the Sudan government service where he later held the posts of Assistant Director of Irrigation (1951), Irrigation Advisor and Director of Irrigation (1953), and Adviser on Drainage and Irrigation to the Colonial Office (1958).
