Diary of a clergyman

Scope and Content

The diary of an anonymous clergyman, possibly working in the area of Plumstead, south-east London. Each daily entry gives a concise overview of the clergyman's activities throughout the day, both for work and leisure.

Administrative / Biographical History

Many people are mentioned in the diary as the clergyman made frequent visits to local individuals, presumably for his work. 'Edith' and 'Annie' are mentioned frequently, as well as 'Mr White', 'Mr Edwards', 'Robertson' and 'Mr Ford'. There are various places noted also; the clergyman gave sermons regularly on Sunday at the 'Church of St Nicholas' and the 'Church of St Margaret's'. 'Old Plumstead' is mentioned on several occasions as well as Blackheath, Fairfield, Cape Lane, 11 Anthony Terrace, Christopher Cottage on Princes Road, Aldershott and Farnham.
