Scope and Content

The papers comprise drafts and scripts of works in verse and prose by Riley; files relating to other writers, artists and musicians, including documentation of translation conferences and reviews of Riley's works; and files relating to the editorship of the journal 'Collection'.

Access Information

The collection contains personal correspondence. The provisions of the Data Protection Act (1998) apply. Access to documents may be restricted if they contain information exempted from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, 2000.

The papers were acquired in March 2013.

The Cambridge Poetry Festival Archive formerly in the possession of Peter Riley and Ian Patterson is held by the Central Library, Cambridge, in the Cambridgeshire Collection 'Out Store' (not available for instant access but viewable on request). The Cambridgeshire Collection also includes a small file of material relating to 'Peter Riley Books' [Ref C.25 vf].
