Letters from John I. Leigh (to his brother, Dr. Thomas D. Leigh) and from Mary Leigh and their children in South Africa (1886-1908). The letters describe the vicissitudes of an English settler's life, relations with the Dutch and the effects of the Boer War. Also, letters from John I. Leigh's brother Herbert who was in the tea trade in Assam (1885-1894).
