Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
R. F. G. Burrows (d. 1971) was educated at Eton and Sandhurst. As a Lieutenant, 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment, serving on the Western Front, he was wounded and captured, 26 Aug. 1914, held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Mainz and Neisse, and later transferred to Holland. After the War, he served in Ireland, the Channel Islands, India, Burma, and the Sudan.
