Administrative / Biographical History

R.S. Elwell-Sutton was born in 1913 and educated at Sherborne School, and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. After military service (1939-1946) he joined the Tanganyika Government Service as an Education Officer (1947); he became Senior Education Officer in 1960.
