Lectures of Andrew Massie (fl. 1690)

Scope and Content

The lectures consist of: dictates (cursus ethicus seu philosophia moralis), 1682; dictates entitled Tractatus chronologicus, 1682; dictates (institutions physicae generalis), 1682-1683; and, dictates 1690-1691.

Administrative / Biographical History

Andrew Massie first held the office of Regent or Professor of Philosophy at Edinburgh University from 19 September 1679. He was "deprived" of his post in 1695 but a second period of office began in March 1698. He had also been a Regent at King's College, Aberdeen. Andrew Massie left the office of Regent on 11 October 1703.
