Scope and Content

The formulary dates from the incumbency in the Norwich diocese of Bishops Edmund Scambler, William Redman and John Jegon, c.1591-1610.
The formulary contains various ecclesiastical documents, some copies of documents, and a list of Latin forms of Christian names (53 leaves). It includes (f.1) Rudolph Game, resignation from the vicarage of Oulton, 1592; (f.1v) commutation of the penance of John Bowle of Tymworth, Suffolk, and Thomas Watson of Wilton, Norfolk; (f.2) note of the marriage of John Rawlins, vicar of Bungay, with Judith Robenson, daughter of Robert Robenson, vicar of Saxlingham; (f.11v) petition of Bury St. Edmunds to license Thomas Sturge, schoolmaster, "of longe tyme a teacher of our youthe", 1571; (f.13) certificate to secure the continuance of the pension of J. Thomson, clerk, "one of the religious men of the late dissolved house of St. Osithes in...
