Bedspread relating to the Birmingham Sunday School Union

Scope and Content

Hand embroidered bedspread containing member signatures of people from joint churches around the Small Heath area of Birmingham. The item was displayed at the 1910 Bazaar held at [Birmingham] Town Hall. Also includes a postcard depicting the bedspread on display at the 1910 Bazaar.

Custodial History

The donor was brought up attending Bordesley Green Baptist church, Victoria Street. Her maiden name is Pearce and there are several Pearce signatures in the section of the bedspread. It is likely the item came into her parents' possession and then inherited by her.
