Scope and Content

Thomas Smithe or Smyth of Gedney Hill, Cambridgeshire (sic), confirms to Richard Folchame of Newton, Cambridgeshire his gift of a messuage with one acre of land in Newton, in a field called Seagate, bounded by the 'essewra' of Newton to east and west, which messuage Smith had of Thomas and Emma Johnsonne of Newton, the latter being a daughter and co-heiress of Thomas Elliott of Newton. John Bosworth of Newton is appointed by Smithe as his attorney to deliver seisin. Deed poll, signed by Smyth, seal wanting. Livery of seisin witnessed by Simon ?Tronne, John Lawrence, William Yonge, and Roger Pinchebecke.
