Archive of Communities At Risk from the Environment

Scope and Content

Material dates mainly from 1986-1987 and 1993. It comprises a file in no apparent order, including correspondence, meeting minutes, press releases, reports, press cuttings (mainly from the local press).

Administrative / Biographical History

Communities At Risk from the Environment (CARE) was founded in Berkshire circa 1986 in response to concerns about health risks from nearby military and research establishments, notably AWE Aldermaston and RAF Burghfield. More detailed cataloguing and further research should establish more detail about the group.

Arrangement

We have kept the file in its original order pending further cataloguing.
